Dr. David Lewis was asked to join San Dimas Medical Group by the Group’s two founding physicians, Drs. Harry Knudsen and Wheeler Hubbell in July of 1973.  Known for his wonderful, caring manner with patients, his popularity became obvious very quickly.  As the third physician of the group and known as a “Giant Teddy Bear”, his patients adore Dr. Lewis and are willing to wait for his services.  Dr. Lewis is now providing  care to third generation patients as grandmother and mother encourage their daughter(s) to come and see their “doctor”.

Dr. Lewis has always enjoyed dealing with the experiences of creation, support of growth and development and the experiencing the natural high of child birth.  That “moment in time” is so special.  Dr. Lewis enjoys taking care of women’s health issues and all that is involved in the many phases of their life.

Dr. Lewis has provided over 36 years of outstanding care to the women of Kern County and has recently decided to slow down his pace.  Working only part-time now, his availability is limited but he is still accepting all new patients.  This reduced schedule has allowed Dr. Lewis to spend more time with his wife and grandchildren who have captured his heart forever.
